Pet-o-Rama: Paco PLUS Upcoming Shelter EventsWeek of September 7th 2026The Marx Brothers might say "Why a Duck?" We say, "Why not?" So have a look at Paco, this week's Pet of the Week at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter. Paco was surrendered to the shelter in mid-July. In his prior home, he lived in harmony with a chicken, and our staff notes that he is a very human-oriented, social duck. If you've never had a duck before, they are quite similar to chickens—except they waddle, wiggle, and quack!
